Here is the different generations of the iPod Nano.

The 5th Generation iPod Nano Boasts a polished aluminum cases retaining the entire colour line of the 4th generation (except green is deeper). Other updates include a larger screen, video camera, FM radio tuner and a pedometer.
The 4th Generation has a new curved aluminum enclosure, a whole new line of colour and revised interface. Other features included voice recording, 'shake to shuffle' and accelerometer.
The iPod Nano 3rd Generation is completely different shape to previous generations in that its more square featuring a 51mm wide screen, lighter colour shades, chrome back, new interface and video-playing capability.
The 2nd Generation Nano features a extruded anodized aluminum casing with plastic top and bottom. It's available in 6 colours.
Introduced to replace the iPod Mini. Using flash memory allows the device to store 4GB of music in such a small device.
